Morocco will have a chance to top Group C on Wednesday evening as they face a Haitian side that has lost both of their opening two games at the tournament.

The Atlas Lions followed up a solid 1-1 draw with Brazil by subduing Scotland in Boston, leaving the nation on four points after two games.

Haiti, on the other hand, have shipped four goals across their opening two games and will finish bottom of the group in what is their second World Cup.

Morocco won comfortably against Scotland

At first glance, Morocco’s 1-0 win over the Scots looked like a close match. Steve Clarke’s men toiled for 90 minutes without managing a single shot on target. Ismael Saibari’s early effort proved to be the difference.

It wasn’t the best performance by the Moroccans, yet they got the job done. That is all that matters. The key question is, can Mohamed Ouahbi take the North Africans to yet another semi-final run in 2026?

Ouahbi might take the chance to rest a few of his star players for this clash, even though top spot in Group C is far from guaranteed. Perhaps freshness in the long run is a wiser move for the coach. Even with a rotated squad, Morocco should be comfortable victors over Haiti.

Haiti can hold their head high

Two games. Two defeats. Haiti may have been eliminated from the World Cup with a game to spare, yet the overall consensus is that they performed admirably throughout the ties against Scotland and Brazil.

Indeed, if several of the starting XI had been more efficient in front of goal, Haiti might have taken a point off the Scots, especially considering they registered 15 shots to nine.

Haiti also won more corners than their more experienced opponents, and there is no doubt that Sebastien Migne would have felt slightly disappointed over the result.

The 3-0 loss to Brazil was expected, although Haiti did keep a clean sheet in the second half against the South American giants. Something that they will be hopeful of doing against Morocco.

Although winning a point might well be beyond the troubled nation, surely the onus is on Haiti to score their first World Cup goal since 1974 when these two nations meet in Atlanta on Wednesday.

Team news

Ouahbi has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the final match in Group C, but he could make a few changes to the starting XI.

The likes of Saibari, Brahim Diaz and Ayyoub Bouaddi have played pivotal roles across the clashes against Brazil and Scotland and could well be rested for this one.

Haiti might be missing striker Duckens Nazon once more due to injury. He failed to make it off the bench across either of the first two games at this tournament.

Prediction

Should Morocco somehow suffer a defeat against Haiti, they would still finish second in the group so long as Brazil beat Scotland.

This match should be a formality for the Atlas Lions, though, and another win will set them up nicely for the last 32 next week.

Score prediction: Morocco 3 – 0 Haiti
